Between Earth and Light
In diesem Werk erschafft Gabriele Brand eine fast meditative Landschaft – eine stille, erdige Horizontlinie, in der sich Struktur und Farbe zu einem sinnlichen Erlebnis verweben. Die untere Bildhälfte ist geprägt von kräftigen, dunklen Schichten, die an vulkanische Erde erinnern – rau, rissig, von der Zeit gezeichnet.
Darüber breitet sich eine leise Textur aus, brüchig und steinig, wie ein felsiges Zwischenreich – und dann der Kontrast: eine helle Fläche, fast unbewegt, ruhig, wie ein stiller Himmel oder eine leere Leinwand für Gedanken und Sehnsüchte.
Das Bild scheint von der Kraft der Natur zu erzählen – von Schichten, die sich ablagern, aufbrechen, verbinden. Gleichzeitig bietet es Raum für eigene Interpretation: Ist es ein Aufbruch aus der Dunkelheit? Eine Metapher für Neuanfang?

In this work, Gabriele Brand creates an almost meditative landscape - a quiet, earthy horizon line in which structure and colour interweave to create a sensual experience. The lower half of the picture is characterised by strong, dark layers reminiscent of volcanic earth - rough, cracked, marked by time.
A soft texture spreads out above it, brittle and stony, like a rocky intermediate realm - and then the contrast: a light-coloured surface, almost motionless, calm, like a silent sky or an empty canvas for thoughts and longings.
The picture seems to tell of the power of nature - of layers that are deposited, break open, connect. At the same time, it offers room for personal interpretation: Is it a departure from the darkness? A metaphor for a new beginning?
‘Between Earth and Light’ invites you to pause and surrender to the beauty of the inconspicuous - a work that touches without being loud.
