Between Lands
In diesem Werk fängt Gabriele Brand die stille Dynamik ein, die entsteht, wenn Gegensätze sich begegnen. Zwei kraftvolle, strukturierte Flächen liegen sich gegenüber – archaisch, wie Felder aus Erde und Gestein. Dazwischen zieht sich ein lichter Strom, fast wie eine Schleuse aus Licht, Wasser oder Wind, der sich seinen Weg sucht, Verbindung schafft und Bewegung erzeugt.
Die kontrastreiche Materialität der dunklen Flächen steht im Spannungsverhältnis zur weichen, fast durchscheinenden Strömung in der Mitte. Was trennt, wird zugleich durchzogen – das Werk lädt ein zur Reflexion über Dualität und Übergänge.
Ein Bild, das gleichermaßen Ruhe und Kraft ausstrahlt – roh und fein, schwer und leicht, abstrakt und doch voller Naturassoziationen.

In this work, Gabriele Brand captures the quiet dynamism that arises when opposites meet. Two powerful, structured surfaces lie opposite each other - archaic, like fields of earth and rock. A stream of light runs between them, almost like a sluice of light, water or wind, seeking its way, creating connections and generating movement.
The contrasting materiality of the dark surfaces is in tension with the soft, almost translucent flow in the centre. What separates is at the same time permeated - the work invites reflection on duality and transitions.
A picture that radiates calm and strength in equal measure - raw and delicate, heavy and light, abstract and yet full of associations with nature.
